A system for evaporating mixtures contg. easily evaporated substances, esp. for washing liquors used in paint and varnish mfre. comprises a first stage where the low-boiling constituents are separated in a non-vacuum evaporator. These constituents then pass to a condenser and a collecting tank. The high-boiling constituents are fed to final evaporators, specif. to vacuum evaporators with annular water pumps.
