Bulk-pigmenting of wood-flour-filled polyolefin compns - - using a polyethylene wax/pigment concentrate

Bulk pigmentation of compsns. comprising 100 p.b.w. finely-divided wood and 25-900 p.b.w. of a polyolefin (mixture), a homopolymer of ethylene, density 0.918-0.965 g./dl., a polypropylene with limiting viscosity 1.5-8, in decalin at 130 degrees C , a copolymer of ethylene contg. 100 p.b.w. ethylene and 5-40 p.b.w. of an ester of (meth)acrylic acid with a 1-8C alkanol and/or a vinyl ester of 2-4C alkanoic acid and, opt., 10 p.b.w. of (meth)acrylic acid), is effected by working a concentrate comprising 5-40 wt.% of a dye or pigment and 95-60 wt.% of a polyethylene wax, density 0.91-0.92 dl/g., av. m.wt. 1,800-7,000, into the compsn. The process ensures even and complete dispersion of the dye in the compsn.
