A body in the form of a flat plate on its own or acting as carrier for a film of specified surface resistivity, is placed in a circular H01 guide with at least one face skew to the incident e.mr. so that part is reflected and part penetrates the alternating body for either complete absorption or subsequent alternated transmission. Low k material e.g. dry wood, hard paper or carbonyl iron - araldite (RTM) mixtures are used in a variety of configurations.
