A device for vibration testing samples of material has a base with two fixings for the sample and a device which applies vibrations to the sample. It is designed to enable pure flexural oscillations to be applied not only to samples but also to finished components. - Each suspension fixing consists of a piston rod (9) with a link (10), a piston (7) attached to its lower end, a cylinder (6) and a clamp (4) for gripping the sample (1) attached via a universal joint (5). The piston has a spring damper (8) concentric with the rod (9). Oscillations are induced by a motor (22) via an elastic shaft (23) and an eccentric wt. (24).
