The ferrochrome has the compn. 5075% Cr, 0.008-0.5% Ca, 0.5% Al, 1.0% Mn, small amounts of impurities such as (is not ) 4%, C, 4% Si, 0.5% P, 0.05% S, 0.05% O2. The Ca is added to the ferrochrome melt in the form of an alloy of Ca-Si - and/or Ca-al base, which is filled into a container made of material which is soluble in the ferrochrome.
