The aircraft control surface mounting with slot covering membrane uses two links (9, 10) connecting separate pivot points (7, 8) on the control surface to others (5, 6) on a bracket (A) projecting from the fixed structure (1). The membrane runs tangentially from the structure to one side of the control surface. Link pivots (5, 6, 7, 8) are so arranged that with the surface in neutral position they all fall onto the sides of an equilateral right-angled triangle, with the end fixed pivot (5) in the plane of the (now straight) membrane, at mid-width. The associated moving pivot (7) is on a perpendicular to the membrane through the fixed one. The other two (6, 8) are on the hypotenuse from the first. Both moving pivots are an equal distance from the membrane (4).
