Transparent flexible copolyamide - from polyamide-12 monomer and a second polyamide monomer,for packaging

A polyamide is obtd. by polymerising a mixt. of (I) a polyamide-12 monomer, such as dodecyllactam or 12-amino-dodecane carboxylic acid, and (II) another polyamide monomer, e.g. 11-amino-undecane carboxylic acid. The ratios of the two monomers are limited; 72-82% of (I) and 28-18% of (II) is claimed. The polyamide is very transparent and flexible, and can be easily welded and the welded seams are durable. Films do not tend to stick together, and are used, esp. for packaging purposes.
