Thermal stabiliser for PVC resins contains a Pb-salt of alpha-hydroxy aliphatic acids having a chain length of 8-20C atoms, or a mixture of such salts. Pb-alpha-hydroxylaurate or Pb-alpha-hydroxycaprylate is suitable. An inorg. basic Pb-salt may also be present. The stabilisers have no tendency to discolouration, and combine long-lasting stabilising effect with lubricating action.
