Forming leather webs - from tanned leather pieces without excessively thick seams for use in clothing industry

Leather webs for use in clothing industry are produced from rectangular leather blanks of different sizes by chamfering the leading and trailing edges of two adjacent blanks on opposite sides of the respective blanks, providing the oppositely chamfered edges with an adhesive and joining the edges under pressure and repeating the chamfering and bonding processes for successive blanks to form the web which is devoid of thick seams.
