Stoning machine - for fresh or re-hydrated fruits

Machine comprises a cylinder divided in the direction of its length into four segments; the first is simply cylindrical, the second has two valves placed opposite each other, the third has a series of radial passages, and the fourth is purely cylindrical; in the latter a compression piston acts to compress and eject, through a spring-loaded cover, the stones that have been removed from the pulp in te third segment. The second segment has a hopper for the introduction of the fruit to be treated when the pivoting valves are open. When these valves are closed the piston advances and squeezes the pulp out through the radial passages; this segment is jacketted and hot or cold water may be circulated to control the temp. Machine works equally well with hard and viscous fruits with a high sugar content, such as dates. It can operate at high or low pressures with very different types of fruit; the characteristics of the pulp are not affected.
