Flexible boat keel - comprising a telescopic tubular (pvc) keel with flexural damping to suit inflatable boats

An internal keel structure comprises segments of semi-rigid tubing (PVC) assembled (pref. with spring loading) to allow relative telescopic movement between opposite ends of the hall. Pref. flexing is damped by an inflated cushion located between the keel and the floor panel of a twin boom inflatable boat. Pref. the cushion has an internal membrane with orifices for restricted air flow between the compartments. The structure is stiff enough to resist the effects of wind or currents while still allowing the boat to flex over waves. The components are lightweight and can be easily dismantled or collapsed.
