Device for feeding a powdered substance to an appts. has a container into which the powdered substance is introduced, a connecting tube connected to the appts. to be fed, this connecting tube being subjected to a lower pressure than that in the container (pressure difference =200-1000 millibars and an expansion device connecting the container to the tube) so as to control the flow of the powdered substance introduced into the tube. Used for feeding powdered thermoplastic materials e.g. to injection moulding or extrusion appts. The device enables the temp. of the powdered substance to be raised, thus enabling the appts. to be fed to operate at a higher capacity.
