A ground engaging implement support for attachment to tractor lift linkages comprises a support structure 10, on which the implement, e.g. a trencher, is mounted and which is pivotally attached to the upper, 13, and lower, 15, links of the tractor, and at least one hydraulic ram 33 which deforms a subsidiary linkage 22 in order to produce a downward load on the support structure. One of the subsidiary links 29 is unattached to but engagable with the lower link 15. Fluid is delivered to the ram via the control valve of the implement so that when the implement is operated the ram is energised, a manually actuated overide valve being provided so that fluid may be exhausted from the ram to prevent it operating. The ram may be replaced by a mechanical ratchet.
