1283280 Recycle process in the preparation of cyclohexanone oxime STAMICARBON NV 30 Nov 1970 [6 Dec 1969] 56741/70 Heading C2C In a process for the production of cyclohexanone oxime, a buffered aqueous reaction medium with an acid reaction which contains nitrate ions and phosphoric acid and/or bisulphate, is recycled between a hydroxylamine synthesis zone and a cyclohexanone oxime synthesis zone, and in the hydroxylamine synthesis zone nitrate ions are catalytically reduced with molecular hydrogen in the presence of a palladium catalyst to hydroxylamine, which hydroxylamine is consumed in the oxime synthesis zone, and the cyclohexanone oxime is separated from the aqueous reaction liquid, whereafter this aqueous reaction liquid before being returned to the hydroxylamine synthesis zone is substantially freed of remaining cyclohexanone and cyclohexanone oxime in a stripping process and fresh nitrate ions required for the hydroxylamine synthesis are supplied in the form of nitric acid or nitrous gases; in which the make-up nitric acid or nitrous gases are supplied after the said stripping process for distilling off the remnants of oxime and cyclohexanone has been carried out.
