1342139 Telegraphy SIEMENS AG 20 July 1972 [23 July 1971] 34005/72 Addition to 1342138 Heading H4P In a teleprinter arrangement as disclosed in the Specification 1,342,138, wherein a special character is printed to indicate receipt of a bit group with incorrect parity, means are provided to disable the inhibit print out device in these conditions. In one known arrangement, the inhibit device comprises a latch (18) engageable and preventing movement of an arm (13) when the flank of a cam (15) fails to support the arm. The invention relates to an additional electromagnet which is energizable to prevent engagement of latch (18) with arm (13), or may prevent a lever (Sp), Fig. 3 (not shown) dropping into position. In the latter case the magnet (38) can also control the eighth track of a perforator thus indicating a fault.
