1406372 Fluid regulation S A LEBLANC 15 Feb 1973 [26 June 1972] 7377/73 Heading G3H [Also in Divisions F2 and F4] A fuel flow control device for a gas burner 6 comprises an orifice 8 located between a fuel inlet 2 and an outlet to burner 6, a membrane 4 subjected to the pressure of a spring 9 opposed by the pressure of gas passing through the device, and a member 11 attached to membrane 4 to adjust the effective area of orifice 8 and profiled to yield only a low gas flow-rate when the fuel gas is initially supplied to inlet 2 whereafter membrane 4 moves to yield a progressive increase in flow-rate to a maximum value. The movement of membrane 4 is slowed by forming it as a bottom closure of a chamber 3 open to atmosphere through a calibrated hole 10. Member 11 may include a portion 14 which co-operates with orifice 8 to form a pressure regulator once the maximum flow-rate has been achieved.
