A pesticidal and veterinary anthelmintic preparation comprises a mixture of (a) a compound of formula:- FORM:1048814/A5-A6/1 wherein R and R1 each represents an alkyl radical which contains 1-5C and which may be substituted by chlorine atoms and interrupted by an oxygen atom, or represents a phenyl radical which may be substituted by chlorine atoms; R11 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, X, X1 and Z each represents an oxygen or sulphur atom, A is a halogen atom e.g. Cl or Br, or an alkyl or chloroalkyl group of 1 -4C, Hal is a halogen atom, and n and m each is 1 or 2; or an ester which can be derived from the above general formula by saturating the double bond with halogen atoms e.g. Cl or Br, (b) an adsorbent carbon (many specified) and optionally a solid or liquid carrier. The compositions may also contain (i) natural resins e.g. colophony (ii) silica and silicates (iii) ingestible carbohydrates and proteins e.g. skimmed milk (iv) phenolic antioxidants and 1 -2-propylene glycol antioxidant (v) non-ionic surfactants e.g. ethylene oxide condensates anionic surfactants e.g. soaps and the sodium salt of petroleum sulphonic acid, dodecyl benzene sulphonic acid and dodecyl alcohol sulphuric acid ester and cationic surfactants e.g. quaternary ammonium salts such as cetyl pyridinium bromide (vi) thickening agents and adhesives (vii) and fatty acids, resin, glue, casein or alginates (viii) solid carriers e.g. talc, kaolin, bentonite, cork meal and wood meal. Specified forms are dusts, granules, gelatin capsules, aqueous suspensions, aqueous dispersions, syrups, tablets and dragees. The carbon may be shaped. The compositions can be used to treat plants, soil, water, and animals to combat insects, nematodes, snails and endoparasites.
