1287273 Apparatus for treating circulatory troubles CONTIMED SA 22 Nov 1969 [26 Nov 1968] 36687/69 Heading A5R Apparatus for treating circulatory troubles comprises two cylindrical enclaves 1 to receive body members, each closed at one end by a bottom 2 carrying a gas inlet 22, a thermostat 3, a blower 4, a heater and cooler 5 and a quartz lamp 39, each enclave containing a vibratable cushion 48 and having an inflatable sleeve 8 at the other end, the enclaves being carried by a pair of arms 59, 60, a pump 9 to pressurise or evacuate the enclaves and sleeves, and means to control the pressure and temperature in the enclaves and the pressure in the sleeve according to a variable programme, and a support 64 which may oscillate. Therapeutic gas 41 may be admitted to each enclave. The support 64 may adapt several inclined positions dependent on the pressure in the cylinders and may oscillate transversely to the longitudinal axis of the apparatus. Pump 9 (Fig. 2) supplies air to the enclave through conduit 22 and to the sleeves through conduit 10 and air may be withdrawn by the pump through conduits 29 and 17. Pressure regulators 28 and 15 linked to the enclave and sleeve respectively by conduits 34 and 16 control electro-valves 23, 24, 31, 32 and 19, 12 electronically to control the flow of air into and from the enclave and sleeve according to a variable programme.
