[Also in Division F2] A rotary plug 19 with passages 16 is held relative to a sleeve 15 with passages 17 to maintain a predetermined flow rate therethrough by a spring-loaded peg 31 in a cap 20 of the plug entering into one of a number of recesses in an indexing plate 18 rigid with the sleeve, one of the recesses being a slot inclined to the radius and formed in a block 24 radially adjustable by screw 26 to alter the relative positions of the plug and sleeve when the peg is in the slot. The passages 17 are connected on one side of the plug to two tubes 11 interconnecting two similar valves and each connected to an inlet, one respectively for steam and the other for oil. On the other side of the plug the passages of each valve connect with passages 6, 8 in an atomizer body and leading to coaxial ducts 7A, 7B, the latter from each valve feeding a separate burner of a dual arrangement so that one may be removed at a time for maintenance. The peg 31 is removed from a recess by a hand-pull 33 and may be turned to position the bottom of lugs 34 on shoulders (38) of lugs 37 to prevent the spring 30 from moving the peg downwards. The bottom of the peg is formed as an elongated collar (40) which engages one of a plurality of slots (42) each adjacent a recess so that if the cap 20 is rotated in the correct direction the peg is rotated to move the lugs 34 off the shoulders 38 and the spring 30 moves the peg on to the indexing plate ready for the next recess but if the cap is rotated in the wrong direction the lugs 34 abut the lugs 37 to prevent rotation. In the off-position of the valve a bracket 43 on the atomizer body may be removed since a recess of the cap is opposite and thereafter a spring-loaded plunger 45 enters the recess to prevent opening of the valve while the burner is removed.
