Thionophosphonate -o-(2,5-dichloro-4-iodophenyl)o-methyl- - phenylthionophosphonate - useful as insecticide and acaricide

Novel O-(2,5-dichloro-4-iodophenyl), O-methyl-phenylthionophosphonate has broad spectrum insecticidal and acaricidal activity, and because of its low toxicity to bees is esp. useful for controlling insect pests during flowering of cultivated plants or shortly before flowring. It is prepared by reacting a phenylthiophosphonic acid dihalide with MeOH and then with 2,5-dichloro-4-iodophenol.
