Remouldable vulcanised elastomer - by vulcanising mixture of two elastomers with elastomer properties at different temperatures

Vulcanised elastomer pdt. is prepd. by (a) mixing (I) a first material which is essentially inextensible at a lower temp. and is an elastomer at a considerably higher temp., and (II) a second material which is immiscible with the first material, is an elastomer at the lower temp. contains vulcanising agents, and is present in an amount varying from approx. equal to several times the amount of the first material, (b) vulcanising the second material, (c) changing the shape of the vulcanised pdt. when it is at the higher temp., and (d) cooling the pdt. in the changed shape. Has elastomeric properties in two different temp. ranges. When a pdt. with a definite size and shape is heated to the higher temp. range, it can be extended or again formed into shape, and retains this new size and shape after cooling.
