1407598 Timing ignition; ignition systems FIAT SpA 6 Nov 1972 [19 Nov 1971] 50983/72 Headings F1B and F1K An ignition system has two sets of contacts 16, 20, 18, 22 arranged so that one set of contacts 18, 22 is opened in advance of the other and a switch 28 operated by the choke is arranged so that one set of contacts 16, 20 is isolated from the ignition circuit when the choke is brought in thus advancing the ignition timing. As shown the switch 28 is operated through a relay 26 but it can be operated either mechanically or electronically by means other than those described.
