Dose meter-detecting high speed neutrons - using a lead polyethylene and metal alloy laminated emitter

The emitter releases electrons into a vacuum according to the number of neutrons bombarding it and an electrometer reads the difference in charge produced, in which the emitter is a laminate having =1 proton producing layer according to the neutrons bombarding it, as well as =1 electron producing layer, according to the proton prodn. and =1 sec. electron emitting layer emitting an increased number of free electrons corresp. to the electron prodn. Pref. a prodn. absorbing layer, of a heavy metal such as lead, is also provided. The proton producing layer is an org. material with a high hydrogen content, esp. polyethylene.
