Automated control system - for blast furnace bunker feed

Control system for automated charging of a blast furnace with various raw materials e.g. ore, coke, from storage bunkers on to a conveyor belt, feeding a weighing hopper. Load cells on the hopper provide a signal to an Analogue-Digital Convertor whose outputs are to a counter and comparator. The comparator also receives and summates signals of measured batch weight, weight change per unit conveyor length, projected weight and required quota weight and determines the required additional or difference quantity of raw material required. Its output signal is to a control rim and which adjusts the rate of bunker feed to the conveyor.
