Transmission system for original copies using run length coding - reduces redundancy with one bit length for word of black dot and other for white dot

A transmission system dot scans two-tone original copies to produce binary coded signals. It uses run length coding to reduce redundancy. - A first code word of a given bit length is used for the run lengths of black picture dots. A second code word of a given second bit length is used for the run lengths of the white picture dots. The two code words are transmitted alternately. The image dot signals are supplied to a control circuit which emits differential control signals depending on whether there are black or white image points to be transmitted. PS(2)
