The filter is constructed such that it can operate with a supply voltage frequency 0-60 Hz. The decreased discharge losses make possible the use of small capacity filter plates for the feed aggregate. In order ot attain the maximum possible voltage at all times, the number of windings is increased and the copper cross section of the transformer is suitable both for higher and lower frequencies. The screen thickness is dimensioned according to the deposit of mobile charges. The prodn. of low frequency supply can be obtained by either static or rotary converter. Maximum working voltage can be reached by selecting a small frequency of supply voltage.
