A hair lotion comprises a suspension, emulsion or solution containing 0.5-5% by weight of procaine or its hydrochloride, and 0.1-0.5% of each of benzoic acid and ascorbic acid, in water and/or organic solvents. Other ingredients may be present such as surface active, wetting or emulsifying agents, ethanol, glycerine, lipid solvents, (e.g. hexane), oleum citri, and triethanolamine.
