A solvent or swelling medium is applied to the seam of the butting sheets and the seam joint pressed to seal the parts together. Pref. the seam joint is initially spread open by a wedge shaped part and the solvent then dispensed to both edges. This system is partic. useful for embossed and/or bonded materials where a heat sealed seam would be noticeable.
