diskriminatorschaltung to convert two to each other by approximately + 90 degrees or - 90 degrees in phase displaced impulsreihen into one of the respective phase abhaengige ausgangsimpulsreihe
A simple phase discriminator is for finding the direction of phase shift between two square waveforms exhibiting approx. 90 deg. of phase difference in either direction derived from an electro-optical displacement transducer. The discriminator determines the sense of the relative motion associated with the transducer. The device simply consists of two JK flip flops coupled with an inverting gate, to which both input waveforms are applied. The arrangement is such that the clock and reset inputs of the flip flops are all used and the behaviour of the system is such that one flip flop produces an unsymmetrical square wave output for vertical phase shift in one direction, whilst the other flip flop outputs a similar waveform for phase shift in the other direction. This output amounts to the discrimination achieved. A logic diagram and timing diagram are provided.
