Constant ratio continuous mixer - for powder/granules with liquid esp ammonium nitrate with fuel oil

Mixed grain size powder is fed by a worm into an equalisation chamber above a closed cell paddle wheel dispenser below which is a pneumatically operated mixing chamber into which the oil is pumped. The speed ratio of the dispenser wheel and pump is constant due to gearing between them, bolt being drive by a common variable speed drive from the worm shaft, but independent of the speed of that shaft, the variable speed gear being regulated esp. by a level gauge in the equiliser chamber. Metering counters are fitted to the pump and to the paddle wheel solid material dispenser. Esp. for producing plasticised explosive for shot firing, a homogeneous mixt. is produced.
