The top flange is overlapped by a guiding rail on the coalface side of a chin scraper conveyor, which is attached to the conveyor in the base area by holders welded to the side profile. - The guide rail is a cast unit, with cast protrusions on the side fitting against the conveyor side profile, to limit the lengthways and transverse movement of the rail relative to this profile. - The protrusions may enclose the rail between the shanks of the profile which converge in a 'V'-shape. Production is simplified, and the guide rail is easily mounted.
