The appts for the reception of liquid test samples, particularly for monitoring the quality of effluent before discharge to drains or water courses has a series of containers for the samples. A rotatably supported disc with a drive supports the containers arranged in succession in the peripheral direction, each with a siphon the apex of which lies below the upper edge of the containers but above the highest predicted sample levels.
