Finishing materials - applied esp to textiles,after-treatment with superheated steam or solvent vapour

Process for applying finishing material from an organic solvent (I) soln., dispersion or emulsion, onto a substrate, and steaming to remove most of (I) is followed by treating the substrate, and steaming to remove most of (I) is followed by treating the substrate with superheated steam, esp. at 120 - 200 (130 - 160) degrees C, or with the vapour of an organic solvent (II) temp. of which is = solvent b.pt. for 0.5 - 5 min. Process is used for textiles, paper or plastics, partic. dyeing, brightening with fluorescent cpd., shrink-, water-, oil- or crease-proofing, applying an antistatic agent or an agent preventing formation of spots, partic. on non made-up textiles.
