Structural members, partic. those formed together with shaped plates, e.g. trapezoidal sections, which are made from a plastically deformable material, are curved by selectively deforming the structural member within its cross-section so as to effect the greatest deformation and hence the greatest strength in the zones of greatest stress. The method is partic. useful in the mfr. of structural sections for roofing for large halls.
