The edge bead is shaped to the form of a door hinge support sleeve and has, in the region of the door hinges, recesses whose upper and lower sides form fixed contact surfaces for guiding laterally insertable, pivotable door hinge parts. Hardened rotational parts and support seats are welded in the region of the contact surfaces so as to receive expandable parts of the door hinges. One door hinge tongue is as usual screwed to the door panel through boreholes in the flange and has a rolled end which forms the support sleeve. The design simplifies door assembly.
