System for the measurement and transmission of geological, physical, chemical or geometrical data on the strate traversed by a borehole, comprising in known manner a signal emitter arranged in the borehole and consisting of a transducer giving electrical signals corresponding to the measured data, and controlling an emitter delivering modulated signals, together with a receiver installed in the vicinity of the entrance to the borehole for demodulating the signals it receives and displaying them by indicating or recording measuring equipment, incorporating the novel feature that the output of the signal emitter and the input of the receiver are connected by conducting dipoles, electrically connected in turn with the ground in such a way that the electrical signals are transmitted without wires via the electrically conducting ground. More especially the emitter dipole is parallel to the borehole axis, while the receiver dipole is parallel to the earth's surface.
