A pattern chain which dispenses with the finishing of cast chain links which are Y-shaped in their transverse cross-section has the alternate chain links formed by a pair of identical profiled sinkers which are spaced from each other by a spacer bolt and a profiled sinker plate disposed between the pair of sinkers to which it is articulated by a pin.
