The disposable cannula comprises an outer plastic tube and inner steel tube, in which a rubber membrane is arranged across the plastic tube connecting piece and is pierced through by the steel tube (needle) such that when the needle is withdrawn, the membrane automatically seals up, preventing air passing into the blood vessel.
