Stone flame cutter - produces feather shaped flame

The cutting is done with a tubular burner for the compressed fuel-air mixt. with a nozzle producing a feather shaped flame with outer fan shaped sections. The flame is directed against the surface of the stone over an area determined by the spread of the fan shaped section. The jet is moved slowly at a controlled speed to obtain a progressive splitting off of the block and to generate a channel in it. The burner tube is pref. held vertical, the burner fitted to it directing the flame at 90 degrees to it. The shape of the flame results in greater useful area of contact of the flame with the stone. The burner can be held vertical, which eases its movement control. The plant is intended for use in stone quarries.
