Capless electrical resistors - with inner resistance coating burned up by discharge between electrodes

Capless electrical resistors are produced by coating a ceramic carrier tube with a resistance material and by fitting connecting wires to it. The undesirable inner coating is removed by introducing an electrode from each end into the tube and by burning the coating off by an electrical discharge. The discharge cna be a d.c. discharge from a capacitor battery on an LF a.c. or an HF a.c. discharge.
