A covering material is laid simultaneously across the road width and the original layer is made plastic by the warmth of the covering layer. Mastic is laid at the road centre and edges and asphalt in the remaining area. On the board used for laying is an insulated thermal hood divided into material chambers and this makes the material firm in the road grooves. Pref. a binder is used which has a higher softening point or a lower penetration value than the covering material itself.
