The ultrasonic absorber is particularly designed for use with railway track and the carriage wheels which run along the rails. The absorber can take many forms e.g. a solid material firmly connected to one of the units in the roller pair, a liquid material, an ultrasonic absorber which is movable relative to the rolling body or a rolling or sliding body itself. At least one of the rollers has ultrasonic dispersing boundary surfaces lying outside the roller surface itself. These boundary surfaces have many projections or depressions of e.g. pyramid, spherical or a conical shape. The depressions and/or the spaces between the projections are filled with absorbing material e.g. pure lead.
