Tobacco conditioning conveyor - with fluidized bed on perforated vibrating trough at different airflow rates

Tobacco is kept in a fluidized bed on a vibrating trough while a pulsating air stream passes through it. This spreads the tobacco out into a fibrous mat which is well dried from all sides. The pulsating air stream is subdivided into separate sections which receive the air at different flow rates. This is achieved either by deflector plates for the air stream under the perforated trough which have a varying angle of incidence or by a graduated arrangement of the perforations.
