Sheet metal stamping press cut out holder - hold cut out prior to positioning on transfer device

In the upper part of a tool fitted in a sheet metal stamping press for stamping out shapes from strip is fitted a holder projecting into the die, the holder being stationary relative to the press frame. In the front face of the holder, which is in the transfer plane or just above the upper edge of the grippers of the transfer bars is inserted a spring loaded cut-out holder for holding the cut-out on the cut-out lifter in the region of the transfer plane of the transfer bars. The holding surface of the holder is in the lowest position between the stamping punch surface and the transfer plane but does not come into contact with the sheet metal strip. The device ensures that neither the metal strip nor the cut-out receive scratch marks. It is used in multistage sheet metal stamping presses.
