Appts for sepg. moisture particles from a gas stream comprises a series of sheets stretched transversely across the gas stream on frames and face to face with one another; 3 successive sets of sheets are used; the upstream set comprises =1 sheets of fine wire mesh for removing large liq. particles but permitting small particles to pass; the central section comprises material which causes the small particles reaching it to agglomerate into large particles; the downstream set comprises sheets which separate from the gas the coarse liq. particles agglomerated in the middle section. n the prefd arrangement, the sheets of the central set are constituted of fibrous strips sepd by wire mesh sheets; the fibrous strips comprise fine, e.g. stainless steel wire interwoven with non-metallic, esp. glass or plastics filaments or fibres.
