Asbestos foamed articles - by foaming, fixing the foam moulding and heat treatment of moulded bodies

Asbestos foam is made by (a) a dispersion of asbestos fibre is prepd. and foamed in known manner, (b) the foam is fixed with a known coagulant in a honeycomb structure, (c) the prod. is heat treated and moulded into the desired shape. The dispersion pref. contains a precipitating reagent in insufficient quantity to bring about precipitation. The formation of large bubbles is avoided and a uniform body is produced with good strength.
