Vegetable and mineral aggregates - mixed and cast continuously by preimpregnating porous minerals with resin reagents

In the continuous prodn of a composite material comprising mineral and vegetable matter bound by in situ polymsn of an org. resin, portions of the mineral constituents are porous and are used as separate carries for the resin and catalyst reagents respectively. Pref. the activated filler streams are adjusted to similar densities to facilitate mixing. Method is e.g. for prepn of homogenised activated mixts for continuous casting into mobile open topped moulds for mfr of e.g. building slabs or blocks. Pre-dispersion of the resin reagents through solid particles which can readily be mixed leads to more uniform reaction than attempts to mix liqs reagents directly into a large volume of particulate and fibrous solids.
