Composite flexible polyamide tube - with core surrounded by sheath wrapped with stranded fibres

The tube has a flexible polyamide core surrounded by a helical stranded polyamide rope reinforcement wound under tension so as to leave significant spaces between the spirals, the reinforcement being covered with a polyamide sheath which is bonded to the tubular core in the spaces between the windings. The stranded reinforcement is pref. not bonded to the core or to the sheath. A second layer of stranded polyamide reinforcement wound in a different direction to the first layer is an advantage. The core and the sheath may be of nylon-11, the stranded filaments being of a different type of nylon. The tube provides resistance to shock, abrasion, internal pressure and traction combined with good flexibility.
