A mother-liquid is made up comprising the crystal raw material, a solvent and, if necessary, a reagent to assist the reaction; the mother-liquor is fed into a crystalliser, e.g. a stenson type crystalliser with central draft tube baffle cylinder, and subjected to a vacuum corresp. to the vapour pressure of the solvent at a given operating temp., the crystallisation resulting from expansion of the mother-liquor. Regulated delivery of mother-liquor to the crystalliser controls size of crystals.
