Rotating screw mixer - for compounding dmc and similar materials

The mixer consists of a rotating screw in a cylinder divided into zones. The dry powders are pre-mixed and fed in at one end. Liq. resin and catalyst are fed in further along the cylinder and mixed with the powders in the 1st zone. The resultant paste is moved to a 2nd feed point where glass fibres are added. Mixing with this reinforcement continues in the 2nd zone as far as the outlet of the cylinder, which is fitted with an adjustable plate to regulate the profile of the final DMC.
